6 Reasons Why You Should Plant Your Own Garden

by Victor Solano

Have you ever asked yourself the question: “Why do people plant their own gardens?”? If, you have then you surely don’t know the purpose behind planting a garden, and need to know the great things that come from having your own garden.

Here are six reasons why you should plant your own garden:

  1. Safer food, better health: When you plant your own garden you control what goes into your food. This way you don’t have to worry about the unhealthy pesticides and other products used in farms during the growth of the food that you bring home from stores. The food you grow in your garden will be organic and have more vitamins and minerals than those in farms that might alter the composition of the food you intake. Aside from better physical health, your mental health will also be improved. Gardening is a great way to release stress and relax for a while, which is highly needed in today’s fast-paced society.

  2. Diminished food waste: The amount of food waste produced in your home every year comes to be more than $600. This is a lot of money that you could put to good use, if you plant your own garden. Things like banana peels and egg shells can be beneficial to growing a garden, as they can richen up the soil upon which you plant, and this means that you put something that was considered “trash” to good use.

  3. Less pollution/contamination: By growing your own garden, you are contributing to a less polluted, less contaminated planet. This is due to the fact that you would not use pesticides or herbicides, which prevents air and water from being contaminated, or at least from being contaminated in large amounts like in production farms.

  4. Long live the bees: Bees are wonderful little workers that greatly contribute to our planet. They are excellent pollinators, which means we depend on them, but sadly they are dying and fast. By having your own garden, you help save these wonderful creatures, as your garden would ensure that bees survive in your area.

  5. Feel proud of yourself: Planting your own garden can bring a wonderful sense of accomplishment to you. Seeing something that planted go from being a seed to a food-producing or highly-decorative organism will bring you great joy.

  6. Help our future generation: Finally, many people now-a-days do not know the significance of keeping our planet clean and safe for everyone. Many do not realize how important it is to help our planet instead of destroying it. If you plant your own garden, you leave that tiny print upon this world, and many are sure to follow in your steps. This gets passed on to the newer generation of people who will be here longer than us and need to know about nature’s value. This can help protect our planet for ages to come.

Have you ever wondered why your dog is always happy to see you after you’re home from school?

Here are five reasons why:

1. Dogs have your back

When you treat your dog well he/she will develop an attachment to you, and this attachment will only grow stronger. This attachment will lead your dog to defend you if you ever find yourself in any dangerous situation. When someone knocks on your door he/she will be beside you barking at the stranger when you’re too afraid to open the door. Dogs will always be there for any bad situation you’re in.

2. Dogs mimic your emotions

When you’re feeling sad and don’t have someone to talk to your dog is going to be there

for you. He/she is going to get by your side and look at you with big dog eyes because a dog

will do its best to imitate your emotions depending on your voice tone and body language. If you’re mad he/she will be barking at things that are not there because they sense what you’re feeling at the moment.

3. Dogs won't allow you to eat alone ever again

From personal experience dogs won’t let you eat alone ever again because they’re  always going to be by your side. My dog does not eat until I get home from school. Also every time that I’m out and everyone has already eaten and I’m the only one that hasn’t, my beautiful, amazing dog waits until I’m done eating to go and sit in the living room, and watch Tv.

4. Dogs won’t leave you hanging

Have you ever made plans with a friend and he/she leaves you hanging last minute? That will never happen if you have a dog. They don’t know how to use phones, so they can’t call any one and ignore you during your hang out time. They will dedicate every moment of their lives to make you happy, and whenever they are spending time with you they will give you their full attention.

5. Dogs love attention

Every dog loves to have the attention of their owner to walk them, play fetch, and many other

things. If you’re wondering why this is a good reason well because then you’ll have something

to do everyday and not get bored or feel lonely at any time because dogs will always be there for you.
