Did you know about the Big 3 League?

By: Matthew Del Valle

The Big 3 League is a 3 on 3 basketball game for retired and international players. There are only twelve official teams in the Big 3 basketball league. In 2017 the league was created and founded by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz. The arena can be found in Los Angeles California. Roger Mason Jr was the president and commissioner of the league and in 2018 Clyde Drexler was the second commissioner. Some rules of the game are, To win the game a team must score fifty or more points and stay ahead by two. Then in order to get to halftime a team must score twenty-five points. Some of the team names in the league are, Ball Hogs, Killer 3’s, and Ghost Ballers. For a regular season In 2017-2018 teams played in a eight game tournament. Every week a different city would host four games in which the eight teams would play. The four teams with the best record at the end of the season qualified for the semifinals/ championship. Winners of the championship are given the Julius Erving championship trophy in addition to the playoff tournament, results of the games would give the teams their final rankings.
